Nursing Links and Resources

Listed below are links to what I consider are some of the best nursing and health care resources available today on the World Wide Web. Some are home pages created and maintained by nurses; others offer a wide variety of healthcare education and helpful advice. I hope that you will find them as useful and relevant as I have. Enjoy!

buttonPediatric Neurology ~ This site is maintained by a professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at New York Medical College, and contains information for parents and caregivers of children with neurological problems.

buttonJoe Chemo ~ A Camel Who Wishes He'd Never Smoked ~ This website is totally outstanding. "Joe Chemo" explores the smoking issue in a humorous, non-preachy format. Tons of helpful information and resources for those who desperately want to "kick" the habit but haven't been able to so far. I can't say enough good things about this site....and I recommend it to all of my patients who still smoke....

buttonCybernurse ~ Website containing helpful links for nurses and maintained by nurses. Links on career info, newsletters, nursing humor, nursing uniforms and other helpful resources may all be found here.

buttonThe Nurse Friendly ~ Another great collection of resources. Also offers free nursing e-mail accounts.

buttonNursingCenter.com ~ A comprehensive resource for nurses. Nursing journal articles, continuing education, discussion forums, the "virtual university" and much, much more can all be found here. Well worth your time to visit this site!

buttonNurstoon ~ Nurstoon offers some much-needed comic relief to help take the edge off some of our more stressful days. This site abounds in the type of delightful, yet totally warped humor which can only be fully enjoyed by those of us who know what it means to be a nurse....

buttonThe Nurse's Den ~ Info on the history of the nursing profession, home health care, and domestic abuse may be found here. There is also some very nice poetry on this site.

buttonAllNurses.com ~ Another great resource for the latest in nursing news. More great nursing discussions may be found here as well. This site also has one of the most comprehensive lists of nursing resources and websites that I've ever seen....

buttonWellness Web ~ A wonderful website with a wealth of information on cancer, diagnostic tests, insurance, nutrition, pain management, drug information, and much, much more! This site is easily understandable and more geared to the layperson than the professional. I recommend this site to anyone who has health questions or concerns.

buttonNursing Student Resources ~ Great site with info on the NCLEX, nursing jobs, discussions, and more!

buttonNursing Power.net ~ Formerly known as "Sally's Silly Space for Nurses," this site is perhaps one of the very best nursing resources on the World Wide Web....it has everything!! Sally also includes HTML tips for nurses wanting to start websites of their own. This is the host site of the "Nursing Power" webring. Definitely worth the visit!

buttonNursing Entrance Practice Tests ~ While this site DOES have things for sale, such as an NCLEX study guide, etc., it also has some valuable free resources for nursing school grads waiting to take their NCLEX exam, such as free sample tests. Nice!

buttonFreudian Slip ~ Very nice site about the use of music therapy as a way to help children and adolescents express their feelings.

buttonHealth Care Job Bank ~ This is the global Resume Exchange database with the primary focus on Healthcare, Biotech and Pharmaceutical industries. It provides an opportunity for job seekers and employers to connect in a fast and effective manner.
